2014 Honda Accord Ranked #1 in Mid-Sized Car Study

According to a recent article in US World and News Report the 2014 Honda Accord has been ranked first out of twenty one affordable mid-sized cars. The results are based on a combination of published reviews, test drives, safety data and vehicle reliability.

It seems the Honda Accord offers a great combination of fuel economy, responsive handling and a comfortable interior making it the most popular choice. Drivers reported that the 4-cylinder engine delivers sufficient power and considering the Accord has an EPA-estimated 27/36 mpg city/highway, the modest yet efficient engine is an attractive selling point. According to the report, drivers also indicated that the six-speed manual transmission was smooth to operate and the sporty suspension made the Accord fun to drive. Some reviewers felt that the Accord’s steering did not offer enough road feel but that it was responsive and well-weighted.

The article describes the 2014 Honda Accord interior to include many creature comforts that reviewers responded well to. High quality materials and a spacious, uncluttered design were noted as well as the roominess and comfort of the back seats. Standard features such as automatic climate control, Bluetooth interface, backup camera, a 4-speaker stereo and a USB port were also identified as attractive and desirable features.

Optional features that piqued the interest of the reviewers were the available satellite radio, navigation system, seven-speaker stereo, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning and blind spot cameras. It seems that Honda has built the perfect, affordable mid-sized sedan. With the most desirable features standard on the base model and attractive upgrade features to suite the drivers’ preference, it’s no wonder the new Honda Accord was voted number one.
