Facts You Must Know About Yoga

What do you know about yoga? Well, most people would know that yoga can greatly help in improving your body, mind and spirit. Only few people are aware about the other benefits why you must engage in yoga retreats. To broaden your know-how about yoga, here are other things you have to know about this ancient practice:

You may live longer – Those who practice yoga are believed to live a lot longer than those who do not. This is somewhat true since yoga will help expand your lungs through deep belly-breathing exercises which can in turn, benefits your heart. The effect is actually very strong since it can lower your resting heart rate during and after class.

Dominate Nostril – All individuals will have a dominant nostril if they breathe and practice yoga. This dominance will change about every 20 minutes during the day, and it is believed that if the right nostril is more open, people get more fired up, aroused and active. On the other hand, if the left nostril is dominant, people become at ease and relaxed. Remember though that there are other breathing techniques you can practice in order to help regulate the left and right nostrils which can eventually create balance in the nervous system.

Fountain Of Youth – Yoga can be your best option if you want to look young. Know that a continuous yoga practice will help reverse processes that happen as bodies get older, like increased acidity and oxidation, inflamed tissues and cell damage, which can all result to illness and disease later on. There are indeed researches showing that a consistent yoga practice will not just help in achieving younger-looking skin but will likewise help decrease all these conditions for better long-term health.

Perform Yoga With Your Pets – Indeed, there is such a thing called “doga” – this is a type of yoga used in order to achieve harmony between yogis and their pets. This practice started in New York in 2002. During doga, pups can perform poses on their own along with their yogi master or perhaps as a prop for their parent.

Better life – Lots of researches have shown that yoga can boost one’s energy and might even prevent as well as treat certain health problems by enhancing the general health of the cardiovascular system. It is also known to help in strengthening the pelvic floor muscles – yoga indeed provides benefits similar to Kegel’s exercises.

Always be reminded that the more relaxed you are, the healthier you will become. Learn more about yoga here.
