    Students Take a Stand

Beaumont Independent School District has embezzled 4 million dollars. The Texas Education Agency has stepped in as an attempt to take over the school board, however BISD has continued to waste the districts funds by hiring attorneys in order to keep themselves on the school board. TEA ordered the school board to make cuts in administration and instead they are now wanting to cut 300 teachers jobs as well as Fine Arts Programs, Spanish teachers, Pre-K and Headstart programs. BISD students are not taking this sitting down. They have rallied from the beginning to save their teachers and save their programs. As they put it, they have done nothing wrong. BISD is set to vote on the cut in teachers/ fine arts soon and students need all the help they can get. In a backwards system where BISD has continually been able to sweep everything under the rug, our students need help! Make this go viral so we can help our students voices be heard! http://www.beaumontenterprise.com/news/article/Two-indicted-in-4-million-BISD-embezzlement-case-5125410.php http://www.12newsnow.com/story/25755600/tea-conservator-over-bisd-orders-superintendent-to-cut-more-positions-from-administration https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYMQBSQHyi0http://kfdm.com/shared/news/top-stories/stories/kfdm_vid_10494.shtml
