Rio's west side colors.. A different angle.

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     claudioinrio photographed the scenic beauty of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He wanted to show another side to the city that wasn't focused on the 2014 World Cup.
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

Actually, I didn't have to travel to Rio in order to watch the tournament.. I live here, but i have decided to share a different angle of Rio... Far from Copacabana or Ipanema...
This is the west side of Rio... An area that has been preserved as it is.. Beautiful beaches and colors... A kind of sight that holds together positive vibe, warmth and breathtaking sightseeings not only for tourist but for locals as well... This is Prainha and Grumari Area.Declared Environmental Protection Area in 1987 both beaches kept their rugged looks very green and clear waters. Like Prainha, Grumari is also a shrine still preserved.

Located right off the beach of Macumba, separated by a hill, access is by car. It is approximately 4 km long and is surely one of the most beautiful beaches of Rio de Janeiro.

This beach is also perfect for the the surf waves.

The landscape is formed by hills covered with salt marsh vegetation and access is by paved road that connects the bar to Prainha Guaratiba the coastline.
