    Medevac from Cruise Ship


    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     CdnBurger was a passenger on Crown Princess cruise line, which was in Glacier Bay National Park, Alaska, when he captured video of a person being airlifted off the ship on June 12. He learned from the captain that the person being airlifted off the vessel was a crew member. The U.S. Coast Guard reported that its helicopter crew medevaced a 23-year-old man, who was suffering from appendicitis-like symptoms, 95 miles west of Juneau.

    U.S. Coast Guard Helicopter Medical Evacuation from Crown Princess in Glacier Bay National Park, June 12, 2014. The pilot from USCG Air Station Sitka did an amazing job station-keeping while the ship was headed into the wind at 15 knots.The patient was a crew member with appendicitis. He made it to the hospital and is doing fine.
