    Medevac from Cruise Ship

     

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     CdnBurger was a passenger on Crown Princess cruise line, which was in Glacier Bay National Park, Alaska, when he captured video of a person being airlifted off the ship on June 12. He learned from the captain that the person being airlifted off the vessel was a crew member. The U.S. Coast Guard reported that its helicopter crew medevaced a 23-year-old man, who was suffering from appendicitis-like symptoms, 95 miles west of Juneau.

The pilot from USCG Air Station Sitka did an amazing job station-keeping while the ship was headed into the wind at 15 knots.The patient was a crew member with appendicitis. He made it to the hospital and is doing fine.
