BOKO HARAM: sons that ruptured the womb

To #FreeChibokGirls and #BringBackOurGirls, no option should be deemed cheap and cowardly, including deferring punitive actions against Boko Haram. Ultimate confrontation between Federal Forces of Nigeria and their International Allies, and Boko Haram and their International Cohorts will most certainly, come to be. But it must never be on the platform of the life and future of the innocent young women of Chibok. These are secondary school girls who have never experienced much of the unsavoury inconsistencies of the human, living in society; much less the harrowing ordeal of full blown war, such as was brutally slammed upon them by the Boko Haram.

Brutally has Boko Haram challenged the worth of the WOMAN in the organized human society. They have in the process exhibited gross ignorance, that borders on callous impudence and unfounded arrogance. The founding members and foreign sponsors of Boko Haram cannot argue the maternal roles of their mothers in the CONCEPTION and GESTATION, by which these women gave birth to them. Nor can they dispute the palpable strains mothers go through in the period of child formulation, that precedes the often, terrible throes of labour. Even when the child does arrive, mothers are still preoccupied with suckling him until he is weaned onto solid food.

Responsibility for nourishment of the young human baby, by natural ordination falls on the woman. At great sacrifice to herself, she is saddled with the usually, onerous task of shepherding the young human into adolescence and puberty. All the time, a great percentage of the clinical and intellectual well-being of the growing human, was borne by his mother. She mostly had to grind through unimaginable self-denials and countless privations, that her children especially her sons, would grow into successful adults, and celebrated achievers. Thereby making her a WORTHY HUMAN WHO HAS PERFORMED CREDITABLY, HER DIVINE ROLE AS A MOTHER, IN HER CONTRIBUTION TOWARDS THE DEVELOPMENT AND EXPANSION OF THE HUMAN RACE!

It is therefore this ANGELIC IMAGE OF THE WOMAN that the Boko Haram is visiting diabolical machinations against. What unholy grievances they may harbour against their mothers and women in general, is beyond comprehension. That these Boko Haram could so easily forget the hardship borne by their mothers and other female relatives, makes it imperative that deep consultations must be commenced immediately, between members of the Boko Haram and the Federal Government.

The smallness of the size of the Boko Haram clan is not in question. Nor is it in doubt that they will never succeed in overthrowing the Federal Government of Nigeria. But the deadly ripples they created and are still creating around the country, make them impossible to ignore. Federal Government must therefore negotiate with them, discover their grief and make necessary compromising settlement.

BUT PRESENTLY, AS PRINCIPLE PRIORITY, IT MUST BE UNEQUIVOCALLY ACCEPTED THAT, EVERYTHING HUMANLY POSSIBLE MUST BE DONE TO ENSURE THAT, WHILE STILL IN CAPTIVITY, CHIBOK GIRLS ARE NOT SUBJECTED TO FURTHER PHYSICAL AND MENTAL VIOLATIONS. MAY IT PLEASE THE ALMIGHTY GOD THAT OUR BELOVED DAUGHTERS, THE CHIBOK GIRLS ARE SAFELY REUNITED WITH THEIR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS. AND MAY THEIR REGRETTABLE ORDEAL NOT HAVE ADVERSE EFFECT UPON THEIR PHYSICAL, INTELLECTUAL AND SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT!
