Mesa: Giant Maze Treasure Map, Game Board/Game Map and Cards

A Board Game in the Form of a Foldable Treasure Map Depicting Two Maze Landscapes. Hundreds of fantastic creatures and amazing detail.

Hi everyone, my name is Maciek Jozefowicz. I am an artist, illustrator, designer and explorer. Not a physical explorer but a creative explorer.

I am also the creator of Mesa.

    What is Mesa?

Mesa is a maze puzzle poster inspired by the great adventure playgrounds of the sixties and early seventies. It is also inspired by maps and mazes and old fashioned Disney illustration. Mesa is a maze landscape treasure map. It is both a puzzle game and a piece of art.

I originally created the draft drawing of Mesa about seven years ago. It is one of my maze masterpieces. Or at least, it will be if it gets the funding.

---- Why the Kickstarter Campaign? ----

I've had a hand-full of people show interest in this piece and wanted me to complete the work. But I need the support of more than a handful of people to be able to complete this work.

So, I am running this Kickstarter campaign to raise the funds that will allow me to finish Mesa and to manufacture it. I am also running this Kickstarter campaign to find if there is any interest in this product. There is no point in creating and manufacturing something nobody wants. While I am not a "tree-hugger", I love nature and I love trees and I don't see any sense in destroying either without a good reason.

But once I have the funding, I will make MesaMaze into a maze masterpiece with hundreds of paths and hundreds of fun characters and hundreds of hidden objects that you and your children will love exploring and coloring. This will be a very large maze puzzle treasure map.

    ---- MesaMaze × 3: (1) Coloring Poster, (2) Full-color Art Poster, (3) Two-sided Treasure Map ----

There will be three versions of the MesaMaze. One will be a black and white version which you will be able to color in as you solve the puzzle. Another will be a full color version that will have enhanced elements that will allow you to play the poster like a board game. Finally, the third will be a full-color, foldable MesaMaze Treasure Map. The Treasure Map will be two sided. It will have a different maze on each side and the mazes will be connected with two or three wells.

I will create the black and white version of MesaMaze poster on paper with pen and brush and ink. It will be printed as a black and white poster. A VERY LARGE poster, 48×36", that it will give you and your kids week if not months of fun. Because of the size, your whole family will be able to sit around it and color it together.

The full color version will be created from the black and white drawing. The ink drawing will be colored digitally. I want the full color Mesa to be a frame-able work of art.

I also want the full color Mesa to be a game board. The game-play of the MesaMaze board game is not just about getting to the end first. The game play incorporates the Mesa cards (see below). As players explore the land of Mesa, they make alliances and grow their "army" of characters (the cards) in order to become the dominant power and gain control of the land.

The cards/allies that you collect while exploring Mesa becomes your army that you use to overcome your opponents.
