Epic view of Paris from Le Meurice
Sherman says, "The Eiffel Tower is such an iconic image of Paris, I thought it was cool how the photo shows the tower, with the rest of the Paris skyline as well."

Paris is a city of views. Whether you're painting them, photographing them or just enjoying them, I find an endless stream of truly amazing vistas every time I visit that special city.
I just returned from Paris and had the opportunity to stay at the fabulous Le Meurice, one of the most luxurious hotels in the world. This is a view of Paris, from the terrace of my suite. In the foreground are the green trees of the Tuileries Gardens, with the Eiffel Tower in the center. To the left you can see the dome of Les Invalides, the tomb of Napoleon.
The hotel has been surpassing the expectations of luxury travelers since it opened in 1815. Situated on Rue de Rivoli, across from The Louvre, the location is no accident. The hotel was created to house visiting royalty who had business at The Louvre, which was then a royal palace. The luxury of the rooms, suites and public areas is like nothing I've experienced before and the personal service only supplements the physical surroundings.
I took this photo with my Sony Alpha camera in May 2014, using a slow shutter speed and available light. I balanced the camera on the terrace railing while taking the photograph.
