Golu Devta Temple - Ghorkhal Nainital

The best thing about this Temple is that you get a Bird's eye view of Bheem Tal Lake.Tranquility shrouds this Temple located in far off Hills.Silence broken only by the ringing of Bells by visiting devotees.Steep steps lead towards the Temple located on a Hill,Sages and beggars sitting on the steps and few shops selling things of worship beyond.

This Temple is dedicated to Golu Devta who was a beloved Prince of Hills thought to be an incarnation of Gaur Bhairav (Lord Shiva).Folks who went to him never returned empty handed and their wishes were fulfilled. There are several Temples dedicated to Golu Devta in the Hills of Kumaon Region.People write letters to the Prince and if their wishes get fulfilled they come and tie a Bell at the Temple, that's why there are so many Bells in this Temple, each Bell for each wish fulfilled. You can just rest and relax at the top, gusts of winds blowing around tinkling the million Bells in some music.
