What Happened To OJ Simpson's Infamous Ford Bronco?

The Ford Bronco took center stage during the 1994 infamous OJ Simpson low speed highway chase. Cameras captured the SUV from every angle during the one of the most televised and publicized chase and criminal case during modern times. The incident put the Ford Bronco into the limelight and into the awareness of millions of American tv viewers.

Ford discontinued the Ford Bronco within two years after the chase. This decision was not due to the infamous cause but because of decreasing sales of 2-door SUV's with consumers. Buyers were more inclined to opt for 4-door family SUV type vehicles and Ford moved towards that direction. Other auto makers including GMC and Chevy also moved towards manufacturing more 4-door models.

Despite the lower demand for 2-door SUV's in general the Ford Bronco still remains in demand to this day. Some Bronco fans hope that Ford will reintroduce an updated version. The original Bronco was eventually purchased by a group of businessmen and currently available for private rental on the condition that the renters do not reveal the identity of the owners. It has been displayed at the Brant Foundation art opening where guests were able to pose for photographs next to it.
