    The Arizona Commission for the Deaf and the Hard of Hearing Promotes Shari Burda to Business Operations Coordinator

    The Arizona Commission for the Deaf and the Hard of Hearing (ACDHH) has promoted
    Shari Burda to business operations coordinator. In her new role, Burda will assist the business manager with financial and personnel activities, coordinate vendors and assist in preparing and managing the organization’s budget.

    Prior to her appointment, Burda was the information and referral coordinator for ACDHH, overseeing and updating information and the referral directory, website coordination and supporting consumer outreach and education.

    Burda earned her Bachelor of Science Degrees in Public Finance and Policy Administration from Indiana University in Bloomington. She also holds an Associate of Science Degree in Interpreter Preparation and a certification in Deaf studies from Phoenix College.

    “With her strong financial background, Shari will continue to be a vital key player in her role by assisting me with all financial activities and documents for the deaf and hard of hearing community in Arizona,” said Curtis Humphries, business manager of the Arizona Commission for the Deaf and the Hard of Hearing.

    She volunteers monthly with the Deaf-Blind Community in Phoenix as a Support Service Provider (SSP), and assists with facilitating communications during business meetings, social hour and also supports the group on social outings.

    Burda is a Mesa resident.
