Federal prison inmates at Yazoo City Mississippi Federal Correctional Complex have not had air conditioning since June 15. When contacted, the governor's office indicated it was a federal facility and there was nothing they could do. A message was left at the National Institute of Corrections in Washington, DC and a response has not been received at this point. Temperatures are in the 90's. Loved ones are concerned the inmates will become agitated which will result in conflicts which may result in additional sentences. There are some inmates who have put in for transfers which should have come through around this time and nothing has been done. Loved ones feel these are inhumane conditions and are concerned about the health and safety of the inmates.
