The Pied Piper walks the world for a good cause

On the 26th of June 2014 – exactly 730 years after the original departure of the Hamelin
children, the Pied Piper will re-create the event for a worldwide charity drive.
The Interhelp e.V. relief organization supported by the Hameln Marketing und Tourismus
GmbH are giving the Piper a second chance to make good and to help needy Children.

Having run a very successful re-enactment of the Hameln Children's walk to the mountain in 2009,
the legend of the Pied Piper now goes worldwide. We challenge the cities of the world that have a
piper story, all regions named “Hameln” and any friends of the Piper to join the walk to be held on
the 730th anniversary of the event - June 26th, 2014.
Our challenge is to have 730 youths between the ages of 8 and 18 take part at each location – the more, the merrier! Interhelp e.V. will deliver the know-how and experience gathered from the last event to all organizational parties.
8 Countries are involved: Japan, Sri Lanka, Romania, Bulgaria, two cities in the Czech Republic, Germany, England and the USA. It is in Columbia, Missouri that Boy Scouts will be walking in the Ozarks for the good cause. They have legendary support - Robin Hood himself is walking with children in Nottingham England and in Hamlikov, those who claim to be the Czech decendants of the original Hameln children will enter a new phase of their life with a Piper of their own on this their graduation day.
Just yesterday, a second group north of Prag has joined in and a last-minute effort will be stages in Melbourne, Australia! Tomorrow, the sun never sets on the Pied Piper of Hamelin.
