    Honeymoon GTO

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Having a car in high school back in the 1960s put you in a special bracket, according to John Bunting. It wasn’t easy, but Bunting managed to save up money from his paper route and was able to get his first car at 16 in 1956. He learned how to take care of cars from his father, who was a mechanic, and went on to owned several vehicles throughout the ‘60s, like the 1968 Pontiac GTO featured in the photos above. In the photos, Bunting and his wife Judy pose in front of the decorated Pontiac on their wedding night, which happened on 1968 in Point Clear, Alabama.
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

This 1968 GTO is a Pontiac I owned when I got married in October of 1968. It was a fun car to drive and offered plenty of excitement! The photos show it when it was all decorated up for our honeymoon. After a couple of years I got rid of it and bought a VW, which was a more practical car for a home owning newlywed. I sometime miss driving this car, but not the amount of fuel it liked to consume!
