    PUBLIC VIEWING IN BERLIN

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     American ex-pat redmondredd documented the friendly rivalry between his home country and his adopted country during the June 26 USA-Germany World Cup game. "The German and American fans got along well with each other," he said. "Great atmosphere at the fan mile!"
    - rachel8, CNN iReport producer

German and American soccer fans rooted for their favorite teams at the largest public viewing area in Germany, the Berlin Fanmeile, or fan mile. It is a 1.8 Km long stretch of the 17th June Street at the Brandenburg Gate and can accommodate up to 750,000 fans. The area was deluged by fans from both sides during the recent World Cup 2014 soccer match between Germany and USA.  The Germans eventually won the game with a score of 1:0.
