    Holy Month of Ramadan Begins With Sighting of Crescent Moon

    Ramazan-ul-Mubarak (1435 AH) will start on Monday, June 29, 2014 in Pakistan as the new moon remained unsighted in the whole country on Saturday, Photo by Yasir Kazmi, Karachi.

    "The committee is unanimous that first Ramazan will fall on Monday as no evidence of the sighting of a lunar crescent was received from any part of the country until the setting of the moon", Chairman Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman told in Press Conference.
    Confectioners are busy preparing oriental delicacies such as “Khajla” and “Pheni”, small pancakes and vermicelli soaked in milk with sugar and Cap and Tasbih vendor dealing with customer as Ramadan Crescent Night announced.
