11,000 strong flashmob in Turin for Unconventional Dinner in white

It was probably the most amazing sight I have ever seen...an 11,000 strong flash mob dressed in white from head to foot for an Unconventional Dinner.

I was there and I was lucky enough to be one of the official photographers.

Over 11,000 people signed up to the Unconventional Dinner blog which was created by Antonella Bentivoglio D'Aflitto a couple of years ago.

The first dinner in white was in 2012 and was such a success that friends told friends who told their friends and the event became the biggest ever this year.

Elegance and beauty are just two words that describe this event...children in ballerina outfits, ladies in amazing butterfly headdresses, hats, beautiful dresses, angel wings and men in white top hats and smart suits smoking white pipes...it really was an amazing sight.

From late afternoon on Sunday 29th June, Piazza San Carlo became the location for rows upon rows of white tables, white chairs, white tablecloths and very elaborate white centre pieces, from flowers and candles to lanterns and white doves.

The dinner was started off by everyone raising and twirling their white napkin in the air...then it was time to pop open the champagne, take out all the fantastic food brought by every single table and enjoy a very Unconventional dinner in the company of thousands of new friends.

Next year will be even bigger...time to get an Ascot hat I think!!
