    10 killed in BD road crash

    Jessore road crash kills 10, wounds 20
    Saifur Rahman Saif, Jessore, Bangladesh: The lives of ten passengers of a night coach of Shohagh Paribahan came to an end as it met a tragic accident on Jessore – Benapole Road in the middle of Gadkhali and Beneali under Jhikargachha upazila in Jessore on Tuesday morning.
    The accident took place on Jessore – Benapole Road while the sleepy driver of the night coach lost his control over the steering and crashed with a roadside tree killing 6 people including a woman on the spot at around 6:30am, said Mosharraf Hossain, officer in-charge, Jhikargachha police station.
    The dead are identified as Ranjan Paul of Nawabgonj, Dhaka, Jamal Uddin of Dogair, Dhaka, Bisyut Ghosh of Goalnagar Lane, Dhaka, Momin Uddin of Tolagonj under Langolkot upazila, Comilla, Nirmal Chandra Saha and his wife Ghana Saha of Ashtagram, Kishorgonj, helper Momin Uddin of Kaliakandi village in Rajbari, Abdus Salam of Hasail, Munshigonj, Proshenjit of Goalkhali in Shariatpur and an unidentified man.
    The OC added, four others died at hospital later. Of them one at Jhikargachha Upazila Health Complex and three at Jessore Medical College Hospital. At least twenty others were wounded in the accident, said locals.
    Of the wounded 13 were rushed to Jessore Medical College Hospital.
    Hearing the hue and cry locals rushed to the spot and rescued the victims and took them to several hospitals. The bodied were rushed to the police station later. The incident made the air heavy.
    The officer in- charge told that a case was lodged with Jhikargachha police station in this connection. Sub inspector Nasir Uddin filed the case accusing the driver. He suspects that the driver was sleeping at the time of the accident. #
    The body of the bus turned into wreckage after the accident. It roof was removed as the bus hit a roadside tree. A number of deaths and wounded were going to India. #
