More and more economic opportunities are visible in our society causing numerous amounts of immigrants to want to cross over to the United States, even if that means doing it illegally. There’s an estimate that more than 90,700 people cross illegally over the last three months. Society believes that crossing is a terrible action but not everyone understands the many struggles people face by taking this risk of crossing the border. The real question is: As a human being, what are you willing to risk for a better life?

This question is hard to answer for some, but for others, they have made the heart-wrenching decision to cross the Texas-Mexican border that requires a torturous journey on land and numerous dangers. For example, women, knowingly cross the border with the insight that they will be sexually violated. Most take birth control methods in preparation for their journey. Children, without adult supervision have been apprehended at the border. The list of trials that many people have to go through could interest you for days, however, the real focus is the reason WHY this people are coming over the border.

Many people believe that immigrants cross over to transport dugs. On contraire, immigrants come over to the United States to live the American Dream. Every person has a story behind them, mouths they need to feed, relatives they need to see, dreams they need to achieve, and as humans everyone most have the right to expand their horizon and pursue happiness at any cost. As American citizens we are given the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness; but why is this not a human right? This is what the immigrants are trying to do as they cross over to the United States. They are trying to express their unalienable rights that they should have.
