There were few people protesting at Fenway train station in Boston on 7/1/2014 about the increase on T fares. The information passed is that MBTA is trying to cut cleaning services but yet increased the T fare which almost or about 100 Janitors will lose their jobs cleaning train stations.
Union workers crowded around the State Transportation Building protesting days ago. City Councilor Tito Jackson accompanied by City Councilor Josh Zakim, as well as State Representatives Marjorie Decker and Aaron Michlewitz, spoke to the crowd of protestants “We will not lose jobs . . . We will tell the MBTA to turn that bus around and make the right decision.” The group is creating an awareness that T riders will be paying more fares but getting less services as people will be losing their jobs and there will be dirty walls, sticky floors, grime filled staircases etc .
