    Story in a Photo

About 1965. My daughter dressed for Easter Sunday School & church in a complete new outfit that was always "required" for that annual holiday. Signs of the times: B&W television with "legs," a/c unit in window, Danish Modern furniture. In retrospect, it was a time of such naivety compared to today. I have repeatedly said I lived through the best of times: the 50's and 60's & 70's. My children played outside, entertained themselves with simple things such as "finding doodle bugs," never sat in front of the TV all day, no computer games......they ran and played and enjoyed all that life offered. It was before dozens of 24 hour news channels that scared us by reporting things that never would have made it to a newspaper....and suddenly parents were walking their kids to the street corners to catch a school bus. My goodness, I walked 3 blocks and waited for my school bus on busy US Hwy 84.
