Church replaced military barracks in a residential district Mladost in Sofia

A real miracle happens in one of the largest and most densely populated areas of the Bulgarian capital Sofia. Although this residential district was created in the late 60s of the last century and counts 140,000 inhabitants until now on the territory of Mladost has never been a Christian church. Although Christianity in Bulgaria is the official religion and has millennial roots, although the Bulgarians have withstood the 5 centuries of Ottoman rule and have survived as a people and country, thanks to the Orthodox faith. Recently, the hope of people risen, that on the territory of the residential district they will have their own church.
The construction of the church "Nativity" became possible after the Ministry of Defence of Bulgaria donated the plot of 4.5 acres, where 10 years ago were housed military barracks. On this plot was situated the former garrison arrest of Sofia, which burned by fire in 2009. The district administration in "Mladost", Sofia decided to revive the place, to build a temple by donations and started a massive fund-raising campaign. Just for 3 months were collected over 150 000 BGN. Firms in the region and the ordinary people are engaged in the idea of supplying building materials and volunteer labor. The church is built entirely with donations and grow with each passing day. Until 15 August when is the one of the biggest Christian holidays - the Assumption of Mary, the roof of the temple will be built and solemnly consecrated, and with the laity and with God's blessing, the church"Nativity" will open next year.
