    Wildfires blazing near you

    Pope Valley Fire, Napa, California


    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Lori Lynne Todd captured these images of a wild fire raging through Pope Valley, California, on Monday. The fire has destroyed more than 4,000 acres of land and fire crews have been working diligently to contain it.

    Todd, who is a resident of Pope Valley said, "The firefighters are amazing. We have watched over the past two days as they have successfully defended the borders of the fire as it was approaching residences."

    This wildfire in principally remote brush lands, started around noon on Tuesday, July 1 and spread quickly, fanned by strong afternoon winds. As of Wednesday evening the fire has burned over 3,800 acres in the rural Pope Valley area of Northeastern Napa County. As of Wednesday evening, the fire remained only 30% contained.
