    Gone fishing under the stars

Shaped by storm and tides, Island Beach State Park is a narrow barrier island stretching for 10 miles between the restless Atlantic Ocean and the historic Barnegat Bay. There are lots of activities you can do at the park like surfing, waterfowl hunting, kayaking, bycycling, horseback riding, picknicking and fishing.

I had a chance to go to Island Beach State Park at night with a fisherman friend. The Park closes at 8pm but open for fisherman at night, so we settled one night with fishing rods, beach chairs, food, drinks and camera. Then travel at least an hour drive to south Jersey where at clear skies you can see the milky way.

It was really dark at the Park, you can already see stars twinkling while driving on the long straight road. Before we went fishing we went to different spots of the park. And spent few hours to took some pictures of the milky way. The view was amazing, each parking spot will have to walk thru trails with great view of sand dunes.

On the beach we also passed fellow fisherman went camping with their jeep at the beach which needs a separate mobile permit to drive thru the beach. After that we went fishing, then in the morning before heading back home we took few pictures for sunrise.
