    Waipiʻo Valley River

The sacred Waipiʻo River is nestled down in Waipiʻo Valley on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi. Waipiʻo has always been my favorite place growing up. Previously home to thousands of native Hawaiian, and today home to some, Waipiʻo is a place of great abundance when it comes to land richness and culture. If you follow the river to it's beginning in the back of the valley, you will find yourself at the tallest waterfall on the big island, Hiʻilawe. If you find yourself at the rivers end, you will come across a beautiful black sand beach where the river meets the ocean.
