    Kaaterskill Falls

The highest two-tiered waterfall in New York, Kaaterskill Falls is a 0.5 mile hike up the Catskill Mountains. From the roadside bridge lies Bastion Falls, the beginning of the hike up the mountain. The hike itself is scenic and a moderate climb on a labeled trail and is worth the climb. Once you reach Kaaterskill Falls, the trail ends and is clearly marked to not go any further as many deaths have occurred from the steep and rocky terrain. The dual cascade is 260 feet in length and is one of the more popular tourist attractions in the area. Kaaterskill Falls has been the subject for many books, poems, and paintings. If you're in the Eastern Catskills of New York, Kaaterskill Falls is a worthwhile visit and hike for a breathtaking view of one of nature's beauties.
