Dance Company Includes Aspects of Dance Therapy & Energy Medicine in Dance Works.

Full Force Dance Repertory, a Brooklyn based dance company has a dual mission, entertain audiences while bringing a sense of healing to the community by incorporating elements of dance therapy and energy medicine in their pieces. The directors of the company, Anginese Phillips and A.R. Kadeem state, "People are hurting and need ways to experience true healing, not just given prescriptions that cover up the problem or create new ones."

Kadeem's aunt was a victim of this when she took the pill Vancocin. It was supposed to help her with an infection but it in turn wound up making her permanently deaf in both ears. From this, Full Force Dance Repertory was born.

Since their inception, they have performed in various venues from churches to schools to colleges. They were invited to present work at crime awareness events, one of which was the crime awareness week hosted by the Brooklyn District Attorney.

This year, Full Force will be presenting their enriching pieces on Friday, August 8th and Saturday, August 9th at The Actors Fund Arts Center. The address is 160 Schermerhorn St. Brooklyn, N.Y. 11201. This year is sure to be a treat as they have partnered with the Unity dancers of St. Paul’s Community Baptist Church to present a lively and soulful number.
