    Pampa River : Aranmula Boat Race

     

    Aranmula :A Global Heritage Village.


    Aranmula in Pathanamthitta District of Kerala, India is noted for its ancient temple dedicated to Lord Krishna (Parthasarathy), and the Snake Boat Regatta held in the holy river Pampa and for the metalic mirror (Aranmula Kannadi) .The UNESCO has declared Aranmula as a global heritage village.It has also been included in the Cultural Tourism program, a joint initiative of the Union Ministry of Tourism and the United Nations Development program (UNDP).

     

    The Pamba is considered as the Dakshina Ganga (Southern Ganges) due to its association with Kerala's Largest Pilgrim Centre - Sabarimala.
