Autumn Leaves of Stone Oak to Celebrate Grand Opening

The LaSalle Group, a national leader in memory care with more than 15 years of experience, has opened its first San Antonio-area memory care community – Autumn Leaves of Stone Oak. The 30,000 square foot, $10.7 million memory care community will provide specialized care to nearly 50 residents living with Alzheimer’s, dementia, and memory impairment. The announcement was made by Mitchell Warren, CEO and Co-Owner of The LaSalle Group, Inc. and Autumn Leaves, based in Irving, Texas.

Autumn Leaves of Stone Oak will host an official grand opening event on Thursday, July 24, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., at 20271 Stone Oak Parkway, San Antonio, Texas 78258. The event, which is free and open to the public, will provide live entertainment, dinner, tours of the new community, and complimentary valet parking. Warren will attend the ceremony and be joined by representatives from the North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and Stone Oak Business Association for the ribbon cutting ceremony.

“We are excited to bring our unique approach to memory care to families in the Stone Oak community,” said Shanna Lindsey, Executive Director of Autumn Leaves of Stone Oak. “Autumn Leaves has made a difference in the lives of thousands of Texans living with Alzheimer’s and their families for many years. We look forward to sharing our expertise with San Antonians.”

The community was designed based on the latest Alzheimer’s research and includes high-tech equipment to help keep the residents safe. In addition, the community offers free programs to the public including seminars, speakers, and monthly Alzheimer’s support groups. Respite care is also available. There is a growing demand for these specialized services as more than 340,000 Texans are living with Alzheimer’s, according to the Alzheimer’s Association.

“Having a loved one with Alzheimer’s can be intimidating on both an emotional and intellectual level,” said Ginny Brown, Director of Sales and Marketing for Autumn Leaves of Stone Oak. “Our educational programs and support groups seek to take the fear out of the diagnosis. It’s important for families to know that we are together on this journey.”

Utilizing current scientific research, Autumn Leaves of Stone Oak will feature an innovative building design and cutting-edge technology to create a calm, safe, and engaging environment. A life engagement program will fulfill residents’ needs for artistic expression, physical activity, spiritual support, community connections, continuing education, and lifestyle and leisure. The community also offers a full service beauty and barber salon, on-site caregivers, and meals prepared by a chef. The staff also undergoes rigorous training to help them understand behavioral, communicative, and cognitive changes residents will experience.

“Caregiver stress is very challenging for families, and there is a lot of pressure when caring for a loved one at home,” said Lindsey. “At Autumn Leaves, we establish a routine, plan activities that promote socialization, and provide compassionate care. We work together with residents’ families to alleviate stress and ensure that their loved ones are receiving the best possible care.”

Autumn Leaves of Stone Oak is located approximately 19 miles north of downtown San Antonio on Stone Oak Parkway.
The community is approximately three miles from Methodist Stone Oak Hospital and North Central Baptist Hospital.

The grand opening event is free and open to the public. Members of the public are asked to RSVP by contacting Ginny Brown at gbrown@autumnleaves.com or 210-497-5200.
