    50 States

My name is Doug and I grew up in the middle of Minnesota – Land of 10,000 Lakes – so – water (rivers, lakes, waterfalls and bridges) have always been a part of my life.

My Dad drove a semi-truck his entire life (the big 18-wheeler kind) and in the summer months during breaks from school he would grab me or one of my brothers or sisters and we got to travel around the country and get to see America and it changed my life:

I love road trips and traveling and rivers and bridges!

I even created a competition based reality show about the biggest river in America:

The Mississippi River Million Dollar Challenge

In my adult life (with my husband / partner Jim) I have visited all 50 states, most of the big cities, crossed many of the major bridges and almost always find myself by the water.

One of our favorite "thing-to-do" on road trips is: "Hey - stop the car - there's a big ball of twine!" (Darwin. MN)

The un-planned road-side adventures seem to always be remembered as the best, funniest, coolest parts of our journeys!

From Anchorage to Atlantic City…I can’t get enough of traveling!

From the Green Sand Beach near South Point on the Big Island of Hawaii to the Imperial Sand Dunes of Southern California…I can’ get enough of traveling!

Remember - I'm a kid from the cornfields of Minnesota - so seeing the entire country - and YES! - all 50 states on road trips (not just airports) is the only way to do it, see it, touch it, and eat it!

The greasier the cheeseburger the better! Yum!

See you out on the road!
