    Green Sand Beach

Papakolea Beach - or more commonly referred to as the Green Sand Beach - is near South Point on the Big Island of Hawaii.

It's a bit of a hike (about 2-3 miles one way) but well worth the time to get there!

Once there - you have joined a small but pretty exclusive club.

The green sand gets it’s color from olivine crystals created from eruptions of a dormant volcano years ago.

    Enjoy!
