New violence in Israel and West Bank
Protestants against Israeli Palestinian Violence.
There was a major protest in Copley square Boston on the 11th of July 2014. The Protestants were in solidarity with the residences of Gaza yelling “SHAME ON ISRAEL”. They protested against the occupation of Palestinian land and Israeli bombardment resulting in the deaths of over 150 innocent civilians, many of which are women and children.
Protestants held several signs and appeared very angry, offended and helpless. There were disappointed that Obama telephoned the Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in support of Israel’s decision to carry out airstrikes. While there were protesting, some Israeli’ came to the scene and had peace flags, shouting and telling them that they don’t need to wrap bombs around their women, they need to stop violence and terrorism while some Palestinians verbally retaliated. Boston Police stood around the Protestants to make sure their protests ended in peace. A lady wrote on her placard “Proud Jew against Israel” I stood in front of her and an Israelite yelled out to her that she is on the wrong team.
