Protecting Your Home From Bioaerosols This Summer

Since it is summer again, you will definitely have some or even a lot of time on your hands to enjoy the sunny weather. You and the whole family will certainly find time to go to the beaches for the weekends or on your vacation time. You and your family may also go on some out-of-town or even on out of the country trip or holiday.

But if you’re on a budget or you simply don’t want to go to another place that may be crowded with possibly hundreds of other holidaymakers, you can certainly just have a “staycation”: this means you and your family just stay in your home for a vacation. And there are many wonderful benefits to be gained by deciding to go on a staycation, the primary one, of course, is that you will be able to spend a lot of money if you simply spend your holiday or any of your rest days this summer in the comforts of your home.

Since there are several advantages to staying at home during your free time during this summer and you have decided to do this, you however have to be particularly mindful of some harmful organisms that are also present in and around your house. And they are called bioaerosols.

    Bioaerosols

Bioaerosols are airborne minute living organisms or fragments of living things. Examples of these contaminants include moulds, fungi, mildew, dust, mites, spores, pollen, bacteria, amoebas, viruses, and fragments of plant materials, and human and pet dander (skin which has been shed). These contaminants are extremely small and you will need to use a microscope or a magnifying glass to see them.

These bioaerosols are the cause of some leading health problems that if you do not prevent their growth and spread can also affect your family. Some of the health issues and illnesses they cause are allergies, colds, rashes, hay fever and even pneumonia.

Preventing The Spread Of Bioaerosols In Your Home

As such, to avoid the growth and spreading of such contaminants in your property, it may be time to have some home renovations. Perth property owners know that in addition to keeping their homes clean and tidy all the time and that their cooling and heating systems are always properly and regularly maintained as well, when they detect or even suspect the presence of moulds, mildew, fungi and other bioaerosols, it is time for their home to undergo some home renovations as well. You need to have your home repainted, some features or fixtures replaced such as old wallpapers and rotting wooden cabinets or drawers. You can also consider having your home renovated by experts as well this summer to make sure that it continuous to be a comfortable, safe and great place to live in for you and your family.
