    Kennywood

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     "I love Kennywood," Fkonidaris said. The Pennsylvania resident photographed the amusement park in Pittsburgh on August 2013. "The atmosphere is a typical amusement park, full of laughter, screams and wonderful smelling foods," she said. One thing she loves about Kennywood is the mixture of past and present. Some of the original rides and buildings from 1898 are still up. She says the park is a mainstay, and it is also affordable. "It has a great mixture of the past with newer rides of the present and always thinking of the future," she said.
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

Kennywood amusement park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania has been around since 1898 and has grown into one of the country's greatest parks having also been named to the National Register of Historic Places. With many changes occurring to keep up with the industry, Kennywood has also held onto its iconic past with several of the original buildings (carousel pavilion) and some of its first major rides including the Racer, Jack Rabbit, and Noah's Ark. Today, Kennywood is a thriving park with a combination of new rides and old classics including a large kiddieland providing an unforgettable experience for all to enjoy.
