    Star trails with Spanish Dagger Center at Joshua Tree Cottonwood Campground

     

    This shot is a combination of 400 fifteen second exposures at aperture f2.8 and ISO 1600. The shot is of a Spanish Dagger with all the stars that surround the North Star (Polaris) rotating around it. Taken with a Canon T3i DSLR and Rokinon 14mm lens. The Cottonwood Campground is the darkest part of Joshua Tree National Park and is home to many Yucca schidigera (Spanish Dagger). There were several planes that were edited out of the shot with Photoshop. I stacked them with StarStax using blending mode.
