Approximately 100 Dallas ISD Fourth-Graders Fall in Line for Capital One’s Fourth Annual Military-Themed Math Camp

Students attend Communities in Schools Dallas Region camp with Capital One ‘teachers’

Capital One, in partnership with Communities in Schools Dallas Region (CISDR), hosted approximately 100 fourth-graders from Dallas ISD schools for nine days this summer for their annual military-themed Math Corp Camp. The students, from Forest Lane Academy, Reagan Elementary and Thurgood Marshall Elementary in Dallas and Central Elementary in Carrollton were able to learn important math skills necessary for standardized testing in a fun camp-like environment using team-building activities, games and individual assessments. Now in its fourth year, Capital One created the program as an opportunity to give back to the community and invest in Dallas students and their futures. The company worked with CISDR to make the program a reality and to ensure that the camp’s curriculum aligned with the school’s standardized testing preparation and the academic needs of the students.
