This iReport is part of an assignment:
Pro-Israel rally outside of the CNN Center in Atlanta, Georgia
On Friday afternoon outside of the CNN Center in Atlanta, Georgia, a crowd of Pro-Israel demonstrators grew as men, women and children waved flags, held signs and cheered at cars passing by that honked in support.
Among the protesters were local militia-men with assault rifles, Orthodox Jews performing prayers with the Tefillin and Christians passing religious text.
The rally began around 2pm and was scheduled to end at 4pm, when Pro-Palestinian demonstrators were set to begin their own protest but many were already arriving early. Among them mainly women, children and young men holding signs denouncing Israel's actions.
The APD was out in full force to protect both sides. Tensions were already growing between them as both parties hurled accusations and exchanged heated words across the busy intersection of Marietta Street and Centennial Olympic Drive.
As I walked through the crowd I overheard many express their concern over violent retaliation on either side. So far things have been relatively peaceful. Stay tuned to CNN and CNN iReport for more.
