'60s family photos
Carefree Amongst the Turbulance
My Mom and my brother on a bike ride about 1962. From our house where this photo was taken we watched anxiously the smoke rise from nearby Watts Riots; the JFK assasination and funeral and all of the reports from the war in Viet Nam. My Mom was always full of spirit, love and life and enjoyed her family. She passed away of bladder cancer this past June. Smoking was the most likely the cause. I wish the reports on the harmfulness of smoking had come out earlier in her life so maybe she would have never started and still be here today. We loved her so much.
