    MISSING VETERAN

My boyfriend of 5 years, Mark Luplow, has been missing since June 24, 2014. He is a veteran of the US Navy. In the days before he left, he experienced a "spiritual awakening" where he claims he had seen God and he even convinced himself that he was a modern day Jesus. He was acting very bizarre and out of character, and displayed very similar signs as a manic bipolar (I'm not a doctor, just my personal insight). He was trying to stay awake for 3 days straight so that he could be more like Jesus. After staying awake for 2 days, he became even more delusional and jumped off of our balcony (roughly 20 feet high) with our dog in his arms. The jump caused him to hurt his shoulder to the point that we had to go to the hospital. We went to the hospital 3 times within the next 24 hours after the jump. The last hospital visit was because his dad wanted him to be mentally evaluated as we all realized there was something seriously wrong with him. After 8 hours in the hospital he had convinced his parents, the doctors and me that he was fine and we went home. The next morning while I was sleeping, Mark walked away from our home in Lansing MI with absolutely nothing besides the clothes on his back and the flip flops on his feet. There has been ZERO trace of him since! He did not take his cell phone and has not used any credit or debit cards for anything since leaving. The Lansing PD filed a missing persons report the very first day he went missing. Since then we have had contact with all the local news stations. We have also put up 500+ fliers around town and talked to at least a hundred businesses, not one person has seen Mark. Michigan Search & Rescue has came out and performed a few different searches with all their different kinds of search dogs. They have strong reason to believe that he got picked up less than a mile from our house, probably hitch hiked. With that and the fact that we have had ZERO leads, we are pretty confident that he is not local anymore. After 34 days missing, he could be literally anywhere in this country. That is why national news coverage is so important to us right now. His family is worried sick. We know that he is not well mentally, so we desperately need help finding him so that we can get him the treatment he needs. The day after he went missing we went to the probate court and filed a mental wellness report on him so as soon as he's found, he will instantly be taken to the nearest hospital. His family and I feel like we have done everything possible in attempts to find him. We need help because we are very concerned about his safety and well being. PLEASE help us spread his story and picture so that we can find him or talk to someone that has seen him! There are many more details to this complex story so feel free to contact me at anytime with questions.
