Due to its unique geography, the long strip of sand called Outer Banks in North Carolina is dotted with various lighthouses. Driving from the top in Corolla, there is Currituck Beach Lighthouse. Next is Bodie Island Lighthouse near a marsh. Going further down is the majestic Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, world’s tallest brick lighthouse. Climb to the top is rewarded by a 360 degrees view of the island. A short ferry ride with the car gets you on Ocracoke Island with a lighthouse at its southern tip.
