    It's Not If, But When...Be Prepared! Ottawa County, MI

    Hello, I am Jennifer Sorek and Ottawa County inspires me to be healthy through preparedness. I always like to remind everyone that all emergencies start and end locally. My role in public health is to prevent, protect, mitigate, respond and recover. This essentially means that preparedness interactions with all functions within the health department from immunizations to an environmental outbreak.

    Public Health Preparedness not only focuses on responding to the community at large, but also focuses on planning. We are inspired to encourage business and organizations to have a plan and work together to collaborate for respond through a united front. It is about educating the public with the basic knowledge of response and the tools needed. It is important to remember that it is not, IF an emergency will happen but WHEN and preparedness can make the difference. Always remember all emergencies start and end locally.
