This iReport is part of an assignment:
    The lure of lighthouses

Point Arena Lighthouse, Point Arena, CA

During our annual family cross-country camping vacation in 2009, we drove up the coast of California. We live in Naples, Florida. Every year, we explore a little bit more of America's beauty. On this particular trip, we stopped at the Point Arena Lighthouse and climbed to the top...all of us...including the dog. It is known as the tallest lighthouse in California (115 ft.) where you can climb to the top. It is also the closest point to the Hawaiian Islands in the Continental US. It was a great stop on our vacation, and quite a beautiful sight!
