    Ottawa County ranked 1st in MI in Health Outcomes: RWJ Foundation’s County Health Rankings.

    Hello, my name is Kristina Wieghmink. I live in Ottawa County, Michigan. My county inspires me to be healthy by giving me the opportunity to share my passion for health with our community members.

    I work in health communications at the Ottawa County Department of Public Health and our department is not simply a government building. We have caring people who work collaboratively with community health partners;
    • schools,
    • hospitals,
    • the United Way
    • community foundations,
    • and so many dedicated people and organizations

    all working together to address the health concerns in Ottawa County.

    It’s also encouraging to know that Ottawa County ranked 1st in Michigan in Health Outcomes in the recent Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s County Health Rankings.

    I’m also excited that I get to share and promote our programs and services; anywhere from
    • immunizations,
    • proper disposal of household hazardous waste and unused medications,
    • children’s health care services,
    • and very important – to prevent and stop the spread of infectious diseases.

    Our vision is simple: Healthy People. A healthy county is not possible without so many people working together to meet our health goals.
