    Hurricane season 2014

Perth Automotive And Towing Experts Share Some Tips To Protect Your Car During The Hurricane Season

Since a number of hurricanes have already started battering the Asian region and other countries, it is important that you take the necessary precautionary steps to protect your family, your home and others properties or possessions during this season.

You may have already prepared your house to be protected and safe when the strong typhoons, rains and winds come, but how about your vehicle? Aside from residential and commercial properties bearing the brunt of the various types of heavy damages hurricanes bring, hundreds of vehicles are also damaged or ruined when they are not kept or protected properly when the strong storms batter a certain area or region.

As such, this hurricane season, below are some tips you should keep in mind and follow to make sure that your car if fully protected and that you can use it during and after the onslaught of a strong typhoon:

Park your car in your garage. If you are not using your garage to park your car in your property, the hurricane season is the perfect time for you to start doing so. Clean your garage, get rid of the rubbishes and other items you have stored there so that your car can fit inside it. The garage is the safest place for your car to be in since it will provide the best protection from the strong rains, winds and even objects that fly around whenever there is a strong hurricane.

If you don’t have a garage, make sure that your car is covered completely and properly. Use a durable and strong car cover to shield your car. You can also use masking tape to tape the windows of your vehicle to prevent them from getting broken due to the strong gustiness of the wind.

Keep the number of a towing company handy. You never know when you need help with towing, Perth automotive experts say, so always keep the contact number of a trusted and reliable towing company. Whether you need your car to be towed during the hurricane or after it, it really pays to have the contact details of service providers so that they can lend you their services as soon as you have contacted them.

Lastly, make sure you have a valid and unexpired car insurance. In the event that your car still gets damaged or ruined because of the hurricane, make sure that your car insurance provider can cover the repairs and parts replacement your vehicle requires. Of course, you need to have valid and unexpired car insurance first before you can get financial help with having your car repaired so make sure that you do not have any unpaid balances in your insurance payments
