    Point San Luis Lighthouse

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     CarGuy247 was impressed with the preservation of this lighthouse. 'Rooms and original furniture/accoutrements have been preserved and restored to provide a historical perspective and docents share interesting historical anecdotes. The ride in the old world trolley is fun and the view of San Luis Bay on the ride up is amazing.'
    - hhanks, CNN iReport producer

We visited the Point San Luis Lighthouse on a sunny Saturday afternoon and were not disappointed, Our tour began with a 1 3/4 mile trolley ride up the hilly Pecho Coast Trail overlooking San Luis Bay and quaint Avila Beach, California. There are spectacular views of the bay along the way. Once at the lighthouse, a docent-led tour shares the interesting history of the lighthouse and the lighthouse keepers who lived there. A guided hike to the lighthouse via Pecho Coast Trail is another option.
