This iReport is part of an assignment:
    The lure of lighthouses

    Southern Gold

Seeing everything we wanted to see in New Zealand required driving 4600 miles, more than half the distance back to our home in St. Louis! The Nugget Point Lighthouse lies at the southern tip of the South Island, and seals and endangered Yellow-eyed penguins inhabit the amazing aquamarine waters that surround the peninsula.
