This is the 'pre-restoration' view of the Yaquina Head Lighthouse taken nine years ago. Although I liked the colors here, they weren't the originals and it was upgraded and repaired later back to the original black and white. This early morning found me as the only visitor as the period costumed tour guides awaited others to come. The keeper can be seen sitting in the doorway while his 'wife' waves goodbye before heading to town for supplies. It was a magic morning north of Newport, Oregon.
