    By the Railroad

    In the beginning of the 1960s during Vietnam War, the railroad workers started building shacks by the track for the sake of convenience in Hanoi. The number of shacks increased until 1992 when the first few houses were built. Since then, right in the center of Hanoi, the life by the railroad was born.

    01: Trains running in between houses.

    02 + 03 + 04: People start a new day like any other, exercises and self-cleaning.

    05: Sunrise is marked by the first train running through the city.

    06: Going from street to street, covered by houses.

    07: the railroad workers

    08: by the sunset

    09: people living here even open business

    10: a rare moment of silence without any train

    11: intersection blocked every time a train passing by

    12: and those by the midnight
