Kilt Rock and Mealt Falls is located on the Isle of Skye just east of Loch Mealt close to Ellishadder in the Trotternish Peninsular.
It is a spectacular sight to see - massive cliffs topped by emerald greenery, seabirds whirling above the waves far below. It's called Kilt Rock due to the resemblance of the rock formations to the folds in a kilt.
It was a calm, sunny day during our stop there but I've heard that on days of strong winds Mealt Falls never reaches the ocean as the wind gust the water out into the atmosphere. It's a stunning view if one is on the Isle of Skye.
